Once a blue moon we come cross a masterpiece like the one that I am offering here. This rug was advertised as a silk oriental rug at the very important & high end estate sale. When I saw this in person I couldn't believe that how fine this rug is. When it come to 100% silk on silk high quality area rug, the Turkish Hereke usually comes on top . When we talk about a true Turkish Herreke, it means we talk about quality, perfection, and precision and this rug is the best example for that. This rug is made of 100% silk pile on silk foundation, all pile, weft, and warp all silk, and it has 900 KPSI (Please, refer to the picture #12 to view the knot count. I was told that the family had travelled to Turkey and purchased this rug , you also can see the label in the back. If you wanted to buy something like this from a retail shop, it is guarantee that any retailer could have it in stock because something like this take ever to be completed , and if someone had something close to this in inventory don't be surprised that you see the price tag of $40,000.00 or more. If you are looking for something very special, second to none, this would be the one and you can steal it here because of my asking price. For those who see different background color, I must mention that all pile rugs have two shades of color, dark & light side, when you see the rug from the nap color is much lighter and this happens in silk rug more than pile rugs. As you see this rug has two different background colors, the first picture show the light color and the other does the dark side.
